Biography

Sattva first encountered electronic music in San Francisco at the underground Techno/Trance parties that blossomed there in the mid-nineties. He fell in love with the music and started djing and producing in 1996. An unfortunate incident landed him in Jacksonville, FL in the spring of 1998 where he practiced obsessively and quickly began DJing regularly at clubs and parties across Northern and Central Florida.

He began to hone his production skills and in the summer of 1999 met his business partners Marc Smith and Chris Havens and formed “Biogenesis.” Together they blossomed, beginning to produce a sound that was funky and unique, blending their collective loves of house and trance. Sattva then decided that music was the only thing he could do with his life and relocated to Orlando, Florida in 5/2000 to attend Full Sail for Audio Engineering.

While in Orlando, Sattva hooked up with Xplosion Records who began to push him to a higher plateau, not accepting anything less than perfect. In August 2001, Xplosion released Biogenesis’ first album ‘Life is a form of matter’. With a remix by Ariel Baund of Miami, the track did extremely well, even landing a spot on DJ 19’s mix cd “Essence Phase 2” (KSR, Japan). Sattva and Biogenesis also have three upcoming releases on Nepol Records out of St. Louis.

Sattva has now decided to take it to the homeland, Chicago. He has already landed a gig at the prestigious club Rednofive/Fifth Floor, and you better believe that the “Windy City” won’t be able to ignore him for long.

There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind why Sattva does what he does. He simply loves to produce and dj baddass dance music. He prides himself on fusing emotion and melody with slamming beats, blending the innovative rhythms of techno, the harmony and deeper structures of trance, and the ass-shakin’ basslines of house. In the end, there’s only one thing that Sattva wants the world to do. . .dance.
