His Story
Juan Sanchez is an electronic and house DJ and producer from New York City — raised in the culture of house music’s east-coast capital. His work runs across nearly twenty credits on Discogs, recording solo, under the alias Sound Foundations, and as a member of the groups Step Mode and Rhythm To Rhythm.
His place in the Nepol story is a landmark one: “Phusion” — written, produced and engineered by Sanchez — was the A-side of NEPOL 005, released April 28, 2004, with Marky Star’s Tech-Horse Revival Mix on the flip. A tech-house-meets-progressive cut, it closed the label’s original 12″ vinyl run — and left a collector’s curiosity in its wake: single-sided UK acetates of the record still surface on Discogs.
